Emotional Intelligence Club
Curriculum
Total course: 36 weeks.
1. Self-Awareness:
Understanding and recognizing one's emotions, triggers, and
thought patterns to develop a deeper understanding of oneself.
Week 1: Understanding Self-Awareness. Initial discussions and open forum questions. Activities.
(See attachment 1A, 1B and 1C)
Week 2: Practicing Self-Awareness in the Classroom. Practical Application of Self-Awareness and sharing personal experiences.
Week 3: To wrap up the unit on self-awareness, the assigned psychologist will help students understand its importance. There will be question-and-answer sessions with psychologists. Students will summarize what they learned and what they liked.
2. Empathy and Compassion:
Learning to step into others' shoes, practice active
listening, and show genuine care and concern for others' emotions and experiences.
Week 4: Understanding Empathy and Compassion. Initial discussions and open forum questions. Class activities (See attachment 2A, 2B and 2C)
Week 5: Practicing empathy and compassion in the classroom. Practical Application, Activities, and sharing experiences.
Week 6: To wrap up the unit on Empathy and Compassion, the assigned psychologist would help students understand the importance of empathy and compassion in the real world.
3. Effective Communication:
Developing skills to express emotions clearly and
empathetically, while also learning to interpret and respond to others' emotional cues.
Week 7: Understanding Effective Communication. Initial discussions and open forum questions. Class Activities (See attachment 3A, 3B and 3C)
Week 8: Practicing Effective Communication in the Classroom. Class exercises involve effective communication with discussions and sharing their own experiences.
Week 9: wrap up the unit on Effective Communication, the assigned psychologist would help students understand the importance of effective communication in the real world.
4. Stress Management:
Techniques for handling stress and anxiety, including relaxation methods,
time management, and coping strategies.
Week 10: Understanding Stress Management. Initial discussions and open forum questions. Class Activities (See attachment 4A, 4B and 4C)
Week 11: Practicing Stress Management in the Classroom. Personal experiences, discussions and some exercises involving stress management.
Week 12: To wrap up the unit on Stress Management, the assigned psychologist would help students understand the importance of stress management in the real world.
5. Conflict Resolution:
Learning to address and resolve conflicts constructively, emphasizing
compromise, active listening, and finding win-win solutions.
Week 13: Understanding Conflict Resolution. Initial discussions and open forum questions. Class Activities (See attachment 5A, 5B and 5C)
Week 14: Practicing Conflict Resolution in the Classroom. Practical Application of Conflict Resolution in the real world.
Week 15: To wrap up the unit on Conflict Resolution, the assigned psychologist would help students understand the importance of conflict resolution in the real world.
6. Mindfulness and Self-Care:
Techniques to stay present, manage negative thoughts, and prioritize self-care routines for mental and emotional well-being.
Week 16: Understanding Mindfulness and Self-Care. Initial discussions and open forum questions. Class Activities (See attachment 6A, 6B and 6C)
Week 17: Practicing Mindfulness and Self-Care in the Classroom. Practical Application of Mindfulness and Self-Care in the real world.
Week 18: To wrap up the unit on Mindfulness and Self-Care, the assigned psychologist would help students understand the importance of mindfulness and self-care in the real world.
7. Building Resilience:
Developing the ability to bounce back from setbacks, adapt to challenges, and maintain a positive outlook on adversity.
Week 19: Understanding Building Resilience. Initial discussions and open forum questions Class Activities (See attachment 7A, 7B and 7C)
Week 20: Practicing Building Resilience in the Classroom. Practical Application of Building Resilience in the real world.
Week 21: To wrap up the unit on Building Resilience, the assigned psychologist would help students understand the importance of building resilience in the real world.
8. Relationship Building:
Nurturing healthy relationships through effective communication,
empathy, and understanding boundaries.
Week 22: Understanding Relationship Building. Initial discussions and open forum questions Class Activities (See attachment 8A, 8B and 8C)
Week 23: Practicing Relationship Building in the Classroom. Practical Application of Relationship Building in the real world.
Week 24: To wrap up the unit on Relationship Building, the assigned psychologist would help students understand the importance of relationship building in the real world.
9. Positive Psychology:
Exploring concepts like gratitude, optimism, and happiness, and how they
contribute to overall emotional well-being.
Week 25: Understanding Positive Psychology. Initial discussions and open forum questions Class Activities (See attachment 9A, 9B and 9C)
Week 26: Practicing Positive Psychology in the Classroom. Practical Application of Positive Psychology in the real world.
Week 27: To wrap up the unit on Positive Psychology, the assigned psychologist would help students understand the importance of positive psychology in the real world.
10. Decision-Making:
Understanding the impact of emotions on decision-making and learning strategies to make well-informed, emotionally intelligent choices.
Week 28: Understanding Decision-Making. Initial discussions and open forum questions Class Activities (See attachment 10A, 10B and 10C)
Week 29: Practicing Decision-Making in the Classroom. Practical Application of Decision-Making in the real world.
Week 30: To wrap up the unit on Decision-Making, the assigned psychologist would help students understand the importance of decision-making in the real world.
11. Self-Regulation:
Developing the ability to manage and regulate one's emotions, particularly in
high-stress or challenging situations.
Week 31: Understanding Self-Regulation. Initial discussions and open forum questions Class Activities (See attachment 11A, 11B and 11C)
Week 32: Practicing Self-Regulation in the Classroom. Practical Application of Self-Regulation in the real world.
Week 33: Practical Application of Self-Regulation in the real world. To wrap up the unit on Self Regulation, the assigned psychologist would help students understand the importance of self-regulation in the real world.
12. Goal Setting and Motivation:
Setting and pursuing emotional and personal development goals, while maintaining self-motivation and perseverance.
Week 34: Understanding Goal setting and Motivation. Initial discussions and open forum questions Class Activities (See attachment 12A, 12B and 12C)
Week 35: Practicing Goal setting and Motivation in the Classroom. Practical Application of Goal setting and Motivation in the real world.
Week 36: To wrap up the unit on Goal setting and Motivation, the assigned psychologist would help students understand the importance of goal setting and motivation in the real world.
Week 31: Understanding Self-Regulation. The assigned psychologist would discuss understanding
self-regulation.
Week 32: Practicing Self-Regulation in the Classroom. The assigned psychologist would conduct some
exercises involving self-regulation.
Week 33: Practical Application of Self-Regulation in the real world. To wrap up the unit on Self
Regulation, the assigned psychologist would help students understand the importance of self
regulation in the real world.
12. Goal Setting and Motivation: Setting and pursuing emotional and personal development goals,
while maintaining self-motivation and perseverance.
Week 34: Understanding Goal setting and Motivation. The assigned psychologist would discuss
understanding goal setting and motivation.
Week 35: Practicing Goal setting and Motivation in the Classroom. The assigned psychologist would
conduct some exercises involving goal setting and motivation.
Week 36: Practical Application of Goal setting and Motivation in the real world. To wrap up the
unit on Goal setting and Motivation, the assigned psychologist would help students understand
the importance of goal-setting and motivation in the real world.
