Remember the source of tension is not you but something else.
A parent's fights make a child suffocate; With a parent’s harsh words to one another as the collapsing walls and the continuous tension as the cap of the bell jar. The seal on the lid is
the normality these occurrences have in society, but not the awareness of the mindless mental murder it has on children and teens. To some households, a parent’s fights may seem as normal and recurring as having breakfast in the morning. They may seem as harmless to the children, after all how does others’ words affect a third party?
Studies show children growing up in disturbed households are prone to anger, anxiety, stress, and mental issues (Source). The study mentioned, “Kids don’t get used to it” (Cummings). They don’t get used to it, they habituate with it: They form habits based on their parent’s behaviors such as anger, or abuse. These issues reflect in a child’s personality, they carry it with them lifelong.
